Interactivity Dynamics
by Lorella Scacco

In this chapter, Scacco examines a digital dynamic of interactivity of digitally informed systems and infrastructures in contemporary artworks. She traces various modes of interaction within the artistic practices of bioart, light installations, electronic and algorithmic installations, interactive projections and sound art. She examines how, through the quality of interaction, explored through digital art, we can rediscover our relation to the world. In perspective of the practices of contemporary artists Laura Beloff, HC Gilje, Mogens Jacobsen, Egill Sæbjörnsson and Jana Winderen, she suggests that interaction entails a rediscovery of a new hybrid relationship with nature.
